Mardin, one of the project cities

My City is a public art project which brings cultural debate to the forefront of the dialogue between Turkey and Europe, capitalising on cities as meeting points.

Five European artists have been invited to develop a unique work of public art, each for a different city in Turkey. By means of this incredible collaboration My City has created an opportunity to these artists to get to know intimately a Turkish city, its culture and its people. Working together with cultural actors and young people all five artists are currently developing a site-specific work.

Over the same time period, several of Turkey’s most inspiring artists have been invited to live and work in a European city and show their work at some of Europe’s leading cultural institutions.
