Can Altay

Can Altay was born in Ankara in 1975. He gained his B. F. A and P.HD in 1997 from the Institute of Art and Design, Bilkent University, Ankara and has completed a Post-Gradute Degree in Critical Studies at the Art Academy, Lund University in Sweden. Altay’s solo exhibitions include Setting a Setting/Forecasting a Broken Past, Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; Ey Ahali/Setting a Setting/Letting a Setting Go, Spike Island, Bristol; and No Bar, Just Bottles, Sala Rekalde, Bilbao. Other recent exhibitions include The Columns Held Us Up, Platform Garanti, Istanbul; There is no Audience, Montehermoso, Vitorio-Gasteiz; 7th Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju; New Ends Old Beginnings, The Bluecoat, Liverpool; and Social Diagrams: Planning Reconsidered, Kunstlerhaus Stuttgart.
