Işıl Eğrikavuk was born in Istanbul in 1980. She received her B.A. in Western Literature and Languages from Bogazici University in 2003 and her M.F.A. from the Performance Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008. Recent exhibitions include the 11th Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul; Moment of Agency, KunstMuseum, Bern/Basel; Wight Biennial, CalArts Wight Gallery, California; The Interview, Boots Contemporary Art Space, St. Louis; and Site Unseen, Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago.
